Digiscoping Digest -- Digiscoping is the practice of shooting digital photos through a spotting scope. The scope magnifies the subject image for the camera, just as it magnifies the subject image during visual use. The magnification is usually in the range of 20x to 60x for spotting scopes. Digiscoping Digest focuses on advancing wildlife awareness through better photographic techniques for both hardware and software. We are dedicated to teaching how-to techniques of capturing wildlife in their wild and free ranging habitats. The digest is organized by animal or bird of interest. Combining the camera and the scope inspires professional and sophisticated amateur shutterbugs alike. Each month the digest focuses on: Animal Behaviors or the information needed to actually find the subject to be scoped along with its behaviors that may be interesting to observe and capture in the camera. Techniques on how to extract the most of your experience viewing wildlife, as well as pitfalls to avoid. Digital Photographs or the image manipulation techniques that offer insight into the new technology of the digital darkroom. Each of our images offer a case study or idea that invites the photographer to try a great variety of approaches, resulting in a great picture whether the capture is true to the camera image or modified with your imagination. Each image is placed in separate folders to clearly identify proper ethical image representation of the subject as well as the image modifications.
